POSITION DETAILS

Position: International Media Analyst

Employment Location: Telework

Responsibilities: Work within a global 24/7 news cycle to monitor, catalogue, analyze and aggregate relevant open source information available through international television programming, online resources, print materials and other forms of new media. Draft concise briefing memos on current events relevant to U.S. foreign policy.

Qualifications: A degree in international relations, political science, history, linguistics or related field. Five to 10 years industry experience could be considered in lieu of a degree. Strong oral and written communication skills with fluency in English and foreign language(s). Broad regional expertise and interest in current events. Experience in media analysis of material generated from Africa, Asia, the Americas or the Middle East is highly desired. Strong familiarity with geospatial information systems a plus. Current passport. Proficiency in Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Samples of international research and analysis required for interview.
